News from College & Career Academies of Akron
Sophomores will participate in an Industry Field Experience on Friday, October 22nd. The purpose of the Industry Field Experience is to provide real-life, hands-on experience to students related to their pathway and help them to gain knowledge of the world of work, explore their pathway field, and help connect school to work. Time and location will be shared soon during Advisory.
Join us for an informative session on how to apply for Scholarships and Financial Aid on Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 5:30-6:30 pm. The University of Akron will host the presentation which will cover topics including a general overview of the process, how to complete the FAFSA, and specifics regarding college costs and ways to cover them. Please be advised, the presentation will be recorded and shared with you so the information is readily accessible in the event
you are unable to attend.

The National Honor Society Induction ceremony will be held on November 6 at the STEM High School Auditorium. The Selection process has begun, inductees will receive an email from Coach Binkley in late October.

Senior Info!
The Senior Picnic was held on September 24th at STEM High School. Seniors enjoyed Chick-Fil-A and Stray Dog Cafe lunches. As a special treat, the Kona-Ice Truck paid the seniors a visit to help them cool off. Seniors enjoyed playing badminton and ultimate frisbee. While others listened to music and talked with friends. After lunch and games, seniors enjoyed a movie and popcorn in the auditorium.
Looking ahead, senior t -shirt designs are due to Coach Binkley by September 24th. The Class of 2022 are gearing up for the Senior Auction on October 21st and 22nd.
