News from College & Career Academies of Akron

​Freshman will be participating in college visits in early March! They will have a choice of one visit: Cleveland State University & Cuyahoga Community College, Kent State University, or Kent State Stark & Stark State College Main Campus. All freshmen will be visiting The University of Akron at a later date in the spring. Permission slips will be coming home very soon!
All families and students interested in participating in the CCP program, you are required to watch the Information Session regarding the requirements and expectations.

Test Score Optional CCP Admission for The University of Akron
In anticipation of the rule changes in CCP eligibility, test scores will continue to be optional for CCP applicants to The University of Akron with at least a 3.0 unweighted cumulative high school GPA. Please note, admission does not guarantee enrollment into specific college courses. Course registration is contingent upon meeting prerequisites or successfully completing placement testing. Students admitted without ACT/ SAT scores, or students with test scores who do not automatically place into college-level courses will be required to complete necessary placement testing through the University. Placement testing is administered after students are admitted and have confirmed their enrollment, and should be completed prior to attending a mandatory orientation program.

The CCP application deadline to The University of Akron for the summer/fall semesters is April 15.

The PTSA would like to thank you for your continued support as we fundraise this year to supply Scholarships to our seniors. The Pepperoni Rolls were a success, thank you to the families that participated, we were able to raise $800 to assist in student activities and scholarships. We appreciate your support!

Please plan to join us TUES March 29 at Swensons on Cuyahoga Falls Ave from 5:00-9:00 pm. Place an order to go or join us there, mention STEM High and help us earn 20% from all sales to go towards Scholarships as well as student activities.
